Mr. Alton Ernest Mercer, Jr. age 80, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Alton was born on Saturday, June 10, 1944, in Bartow, Florida to the late Alton Ernest Mercer, Sr. and the late Lillian Stillwell Mercer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Mercer, sisters, Frances, Loraine and Stella.

Alton loved his family. He loved going to the racetrack, fishing, and feeding squirrels. His favorite thing to do was going to The Waffle House for biscuits and gravy.

Alton is survived by his daughter, Billie Castro; son-in-law, Concepcion Sr.; grandchildren, Anna, Concepcion Jr., Isabel; stepdaughter, Peggy Flanagan; step grandchildren, Karessa Nohrer Elizabeth "Kayla" Glarke, Casey Gaines; sister, Peggy Causey; brothers, George Mercer, Roy Mercer. Several nieces, and nephews.

The family will have a Celebration of Life for Mr. Alton Ernest Mercer, Jr. at a later date.
