Ms. Audrey Elizabeth Harkness, born on Tuesday, September 21, 1999, at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin Georgia, passed away, at age 26, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, on the family farm in Jackson, Georgia.

Audrey graduated from Jackson High School in May of 2018 and LaGrange College in May of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in art and design. She worked for Oglethorpe Power Corporation for 2 ½ years as their senior communications coordinator. Audrey loved to work on the family farm with her cows. She volunteered yearly at Night to Shine and was an active member of Towaliga Baptist Church. Her dog Luna was her most trusted companion and followed her around working cows on the farm.

She is survived by her dad, John T. Harkness Jr.; mom and stepdad, Rhonda and Michael Keen; sister, Carolyn Harkness (Cole Gilmore); grandparents, Ronnie and Linda Thompson, Durward and Diane Smith, Jack and Cindy Barton, Phillip and Susan Keen; extended family, Denise, Will, and Anna Parker; Dan and Susan Feiler; Andy and Jessica Essary; Mitsy Pitts; Duane Smith; Josh Pitts; Sam and Beth Harkness; Joe and Diana Harkness; Tommy and Becky Jones; Deanna, Kynlee, and Brayden Carden; Maurie White; Chase and Morgan Ward; Brian, Amy and Luke Matthews; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John T. Harkness Sr., Sharon (Essary) Harkness, Carolyn (Jones) Harkness; extended family, Wesley Parker.

A funeral service for Ms. Audrey Harkness will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Towaliga Baptist Church with Dr. Jay Sanders and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow at Fellowship Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
