Mrs. Betty Jo Thurston, age 88, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, to be with our Lord.

Betty was born February 22, 1937, in Denver, Colorado to the late Stanley and Margaret Vinton Weston. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bell Thurston. She was a member of Gateway Community Church in Covington, Georgia. She was the co-owner of Conyers Sewing Center and was an avid seamstress who loved to sew, smock and quilt. She also loved to crochet. Her favorite calling in life was being a homemaker and a foster parent.

Betty is survived by her children, Dayna Gunter, John and Lorrie Thurston, Dinnie Meeker (Kevin), Darol Mask (Danny), Jim Gottschalk; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial services for Mrs. Betty Thurston will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Sherrell Memorial Chapel. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
