Mrs. Betty Jean Strickland Wright, age 72, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in a Griffin Healthcare Facility. A native of Pike County, she had made her home in Barnesville for a number of years. Daughter of the late Mr. William Alva Strickland and the late Mrs. Eunice Adella Turner Strickland, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Ernest Marvin Strickland. Mrs. Wright was a Home Maker, and a member of Pine View Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Her husband - Bobby Loy Wright of Barnesville ; 3 Daughters - Jacqueline Lynn Keen of Monroe County, Karen Frances Goodman - Ohio, & Christina Lynn Wright of Ohio ; 3 Sons - William Lloyd Howard of Florida, John Jacob Wright of Utah, & James Patrick Wright of Jackson Hall, Wyoming ; 3 Sisters - Dora Brown of Goldsboro, NC, Traska King of Barnesville, & Bunni Davis of Denver, Colorado ; 18 Grandchildren ; & Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Wright will be conducted Friday afternoon at 1 O'clock in the Pine View Baptist Church in Barnesville. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Thursday evening (10-8-09) from 7pm until 9pm.
