William Toby "Bill" Spires, Sr., age 86, of Jackson, GA, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014.

Mr. Spires was born on Monday, October 3, 1927 in McRae, Georgia to the late Emmett Spires and the late Mattie Lawery Spires. He was a retired truck driver. He loved to dance at The Barn. He attended Stark United Methodist Church. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Gunn Daniels Spires.

Mr. Spires is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, William Toby Spires, Jr. and Tonya Spires; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Allen York; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Bill Spires will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Ricky Mosel officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
