Mrs. Brenda "Nanny" Mae Young Johnson, age 74, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at her residence after an extended illness.

Brenda was born Monday, February 21, 1949 in Jackson, Georgia to the late Thomas Lawrence Young and the late Mary Elizabeth Mangham Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, "World Famous" Ricky Lamar Johnson, Sr.; daughter, Denae Johnson Walker; and 10 brothers and sisters. Brenda enjoyed playing Bingo, going to casinos, and most of all spending time friends, family and her pets, Slugger & Paco.

Brenda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky "P-Nut" & Crystal Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & David Weaver; grandchildren, Garrett Washington, Whitney Walker, Bryce Porterfield, Keatin Weaver, Brooke Porterfield, Lanie Johnson, Brylie Johnson, Kace Johnson and Chamby Johnson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Young Johnson will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 14, 2023 in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery.
