Mrs. Brownie Volesta Vaughn Washington, age 81, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 in an Upson County Healthcare Facility. A native of Upson County, she had made her home in Barnesville for most of her life. Mrs. Washington was the daughter of the late Mr. Ernest Drew Vaughn and the late Mrs. Ida Volesta Childs Vaughn. She was Retired from United Bank, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.

Survivors include: Her Husband - Mr. Robert Washington, Sr. of Barnesville ; 1 Son - Mr. Robert "Bob" Washington, Jr. of Barnesville ; 1 Grand Daughter - Kimberly (& Tim) Smith of Sharpsburg ; 1 Grandson - Brent (& Lisa) Washington of Sharpsburg ; 4 Great Grandchildren ; 1 Sister - Christine Wiess of Woodstock ; 1 Sister-in-law - Maggie Vaughn of Yatesville ; & Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Brownie Washington will be conducted Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2 O'Clock in the First Baptist Church of Barnesville with the Reverend Rex King officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, March 31, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm.
