Mrs. Caroline Sue Leath Stewart, age 79, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009 in an Atlanta Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Stewart was a native of Chattooga County, but had made her home in Barnesville for a number of years. Daughter of the late Mr. James Horace Leath and the late Mrs. Mary Sue Farr Leath, Mrs. Stewart had been an Inspector for The William Carter Company. Mrs. Stewart was a very active member of The First United Methodist Church of Barnesville and was the Queen Mother of The Scarlet Lasses Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include: Her husband - Mr. Paul Stewart of Barnesville ; 2 Sons - William David Stewart, and his wife Cynthia, of Panama City, Florida & Paul Stephen Stewart, and his wife Leesa, of Griffin ; 1 Daughter - Julia Ann Stewart Mote, and her husband Ed, of Marietta ; 1 Sister - Mrs. Jimmie Ash of Marietta ; 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, a number of Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Caroline Stewart will be conducted Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 2 O'Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with The Reverend Jay Tenney officiating.
Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 6pm until 8pm.
The family has asked that Memorial Contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 375 Thomaston Street, Barnesville, GA 30204.
Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville is in charge of arrangements.
