Mrs. Carolyn Brown Drake, age 85, of Barnesville passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in a Lamar County Healthcare Facility. Born to the late Mr. James Bass Brown and the late Mrs. Frances Susan Singleton Brown, she was also preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Newton Clark Drake, and by a grandson, the late Mr. Dean Smith. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church, and was retired from the General Tire Company – Aldora Division.

Survivors Include - 2 Daughters - Faye Sims (& Sonny) of Barnesville ; & Beverly D. Smith of Barnesville ; 1 Son - Gary T. Drake (& Fay) of Metter ; 1 Brother - Joseph Brown of Wilmington Island, GA ; 4 Grandchildren - Donnie Smith of Colbert, GA ; Pamela Glassco (& Scotty) of Carrollton ; Judd Drake (& Lee) of Irwinton ; Davis Drake (& Susan) of Barnesville ; 5 Great Grandchildren – Ashley Glassco, Abby Drake, Austin Drake, Maddox Drake & Kaylin Drake ; & her devoted friend – Johnnie Mae Vaughn.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carolyn Brown Drake will be conducted from the Graveside on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11 O'Clock in Lamar Memory Gardens with the Rev Ken Burk officiating. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 7, 2011 from 6pm until 8pm.
