Mrs. Carolyn Melton Kennedy, age 80, of Locust Grove, Georgia, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Carolyn was born Saturday, December 25, 1943, to the late Charlie and Earlean Melton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Simmons and Dewey Kennedy; daughter, Angie Johnson; 2 sisters; and 7 brothers. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and loved her church, even watching online when her health prevented her from attending. Carolyn also enjoyed reading and loved to try to be funny and tell jokes. Most of all, she loved her family.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Melissa and Mike Calhoun, Melinda Melton, Mary and Chico Garcia; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Danny Mote, Betty and Dallas Bailey; and many extended family.

A funeral service for Mrs. Carolyn Kennedy will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Heritage Baptist Church with Reverend Michael Calhoun Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Georgia Memorial Park, 2000 Cobb Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
