Ms. Carolyn Maddox Smith, age 81, of Valdosta Ga., passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 in a Lowndes County Healthcare facility. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Clarence Maddox and the late Mrs. Christine Hazel Bates. Ms. Smith was also preceded in death by her Step - Mother, Mrs. Martha Williams Davis and by a brother, Eugene Maddox. Ms. Smith worked at the William Carter Company as a sewing machine operator and was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: Daughter – Carol Anne Cooper (& Brian)of Valdosta; Sons – James M. Smith (& Susan G.)of Valdosta, Scott Smith (& Anna B.) of Valdosta and Nathan E. Smith (& Dorale) of Valdosta; Grandchildren – Michael Smith (&Kori), April Smith, Amanda Smith, Nathan E. Smith II, Golden Smith, Chase Cooper, and Kalyn Cooper; - Great Grandchildren – Aubrey Smith and Mary Allen Smith.

Funeral Services for Ms. Carolyn Smith will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 3 O'clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Reverend Mike Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 2 p.m. until the service hour.
