Julia Carolyn Thaxton, age 85, of Jackson, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Westbury Medical Care Home. She was born August 31, 1927 in Jackson, GA to the late Ralph W. Carr and the late Mary Elizabeth "Mae" Wise Carr. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Thaxton, and brothers, Ralph Carr, Jr. and Charlie Carr. Carolyn is survived by her son, Charlie Thaxton; grandchildren, Dawn Chapman, Clint Thaxton, and Paige McCord; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Carolyn Thaxton will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Fellowship Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday evening.
