Cecil Edward McPherson, 57, of Jackson, Georgia, died Friday, November 7, 2014, at his home from an extended illness.

Cecil (as he is known to family) "Ed" (as he is known to friends) was born March 8, 1957 in Savannah, Georgia to James William McPherson and Betty Jean Lewis.

Cecil is survived by his girlfriend and caregiver Rachel Staples, daughter Kim McPherson Smith and husband Darryl, of Atlanta, sisters Elaine McPherson Gadell and husband Kent of Dallas, TX, Belinda McPherson Savadge and husband David of Jefferson, GA, Helen McPherson Wright of Statham,GA, and Sandra McPherson Kardos of Wake Forest, NC, and an aunt Edwina Bailey Hein and husband Art of Oxford, GA, 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and the mother who raised him Barbara Bailey McPherson; his grandparents, William Aze and Daisy Clark McPherson Sr.; Ben Lewis and Horace Leo and Mildred Reaves Bailey.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
