Mr. Charles Dewey Gillis, age 70, of Flovilla, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.

Dewey was born on Tuesday, November 18, 1952, in Vidalia, Georgia to the late Rhodus Gillis and the late Lillian Haggard. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, Thurston Davis; brother, A.F. Crosby. Dewey enjoyed framing houses and being around people. He loved his family, especially his grandkids. Dewey had no enemies; everyone loved him!

Dewey is survived by his wife, Barbara Gillis; children, Richard and Tabatha Gillis, Tina and Troy Bennett, Jennifer and Martin Blomqvist, Erin Hart; grandchildren, Gavin, Lillian, Samantha, Wyatt, Austin, Tyler, Seth, Harley; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Johnathan, Elijah; brother, Donny and Maureen Crosby; sister, Arelia and Garlon Carter.

A memorial service for Mr. Dewey Gillis will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Chief Cornerstone Ministries in Flovilla, Georgia.
