Obituary

Mr. Charles Thomas Phillips, age 80, of Barnesville passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at an Atlanta Healthcare facility. Mr. Phillips was born to the late Mr. Charlie Virgil Phillips and the late Mrs. Alice McDonald Phillips in College Park, GA. He was a retired engineer for the Ford Motor Company, a veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of The Milner Baptist Church. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Charles Warren Phillips.


Mr. Charles Thomas Phillips is survived by his Wife - Mrs. Fay Phillips of Barnesville ; a Daughter - Mrs. Natalie P. Cook (& husband, David) of Locust Grove ; Two Sons - Mr. Michael G. Bryant (& wife, Elizabeth) of Suches ; and Mr. Robert G. Bryant of Blue Ridge ; A Daughter-in-law – Rebecca Phillips of Virginia Beach,VA ; a Brother - Mr. Carl Phillips of Morrow ; Two Sisters - Mrs. Ethel Gantt (& husband, Thomas) of Griffin ; and Mrs. Carolyn Ann Phillips of Jonesboro. Mr. Phillips is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.


Funeral services for Mr. Charles Phillips will be conducted at 11 O'Clock on Friday, July 9, 2010 in the Milner Baptist Church with the Reverend Ben Taylor officiating. Interment will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30pm in the College Park Cemetery in College Park, GA. The family will receive friends on Friday morning at the Milner Baptist Church from 9:30am until 10:45am.


The family has requested, that in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions may be made to The Good News Club of Lamar County, 264 Old Hwy. 41, Barnesville, GA 30204.
