Obituary

Christopher Gage McKinzie, age 26 and his son Sawyer Gage McKinzie, age 10 months passed away on Saturday November 14, 2020.

Christopher was born on Tuesday, August 16, 1994 in Thomaston, Georgia. He excitedly, welcomed the arrival of his son Sawyer on Saturday, January 4, 2020. They are welcomed to heaven by Chris's grandparents, Ray and Brenda McKinzie and Elaine Phillips Heathcoe; cousin, Jamie Hunley. Christopher graduated from Mary Persons High School in 2013 and had worked for Waffle House since he was 16 years old. He loved life and was certain to have you rolling in laughter, but mostly he loved his son. Chris enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially his "redneck" style of shark fishing from the beach, and would ride anything with wheels, and was looking forward to teaching Sawyer all of his tricks.

Chris is survived by his wonderful parents, Teresa and John Bueter of Forsyth, and Dan and Ashley Boyett of Locust Grove; sisters, Samantha (Bruce) Duke, with nieces Addison, Serenity, and Rylee, and nephew Miles of Hampton, Savannah Boyett with niece Brenleigh of Macon, and Alyssa Boyett of Locust Grove. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Timmy (Wendy) Hunley of Jackson, Tammy (Jerry) Rafferzeder of Forsyth, Sharon (Billy) Sorrow of Jackson, Ellen McKinzie of Macon, Sam (Dwayne) Rose of Barnesville, Sheryl (Steve) Archer of Barnesville, Jerry (Judy) Boyett of Griffin, Joanna (Chuck) Brooks of Stockbridge, and Dave (Jade) Boyett of Griffin. His best friend cousins, Ashely Bird and Hailey Boyett along with 22 additional first cousins, and a host of 2nd and 3rd cousins.
