Miss Claire Nell Townsend, age 85, of Locust Grove, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Jonesboro, GA. She was born on Monday, March 10, 1930 in Gainesville, FL to the late Homer Wendell Townsend and the late Lena Jane Hamm Townsend. Miss Townsend proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. She was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company.

Miss Townsend is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Reverend Bill Collins of Locust Grove, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services for Miss Claire Townsend will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at The Church on the Rock, 334 Burg Road, Jenkinsburg, GA. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com
