Mr. Cooledge Jackson "Jack" Barksdale, age 77, formerly of Lamar County passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 in a Vidalia Healthcare Facility. Mr. Barksdale was a native of Milner, and had lived the last few years in Baxley, GA. Son of the late Mr. George Hughley Barksdale and the late Mrs. Maggie Pearl Clark Barksdale, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Selma Lee Brannon Barksdale, and by his second wife, Mrs. Lilla Barwick Barksdale. Mr. Barksdale was Retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 20 years of service. Upon retirement from the Armed Forces, he worked as a Machinist and Fabricator for another 20 years. Mr. Barksdale was a member of The Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church in Baxley.

Survivors include: His Daughter - Velma (&Duane) Hofer of Milner ; 2 Sons - Jack Lee (& Sherry) Barksdale of Milner, & George (& Michelle) Barksdale of Milner ; 1 Step-Son - Nathan (& Sandy) Barwick of Baxley ; Several Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Cooledge "Jack" Barksdale will be conducted Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2 O'Clock in the Aldora United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tommy Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Milner Baptist Cemetery with Full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Tuesday evening (1-19-10) from 6pm until 8pm.
