Daniel Shane
Hubbard
August 4, 1975 – October 22, 2023
Mr. Daniel Shane Hubbard went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2023, at the age of 48, after a tragic car accident in Jasper County. Shane and his loving wife Rene lived in Barnesville for 20 years and have raised two loving children and are actively involved in church and community activities.
Shane was a native of Powder Springs Ga. and a graduate of McEachern High School. He was a sales representative for Pepsi Cola for 16 years. He was well-known throughout Lamar County for his humbleness and willingness to serve others.
Shane was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville and participated in many youth sports and activities. He was a pitcher for the First Baptist Church of Barnesville softball team for the last eight years. Shane was also a soccer coach for both the middle school and varsity girls at St. George's Episcopal School. If Shane was not at home, the soccer or softball field, you would find him working out at Anytime Fitness.
Shane was proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Carl Wynn Jr. and his parental grandparents Lloyd and Sara Hubbard.
Shane is survived by his wife Rene; son, Colin; and daughter, Isabella. Also surviving him is his maternal grandmother, Barbara Anderson Wynn; mother, Debbie Willingham (Ron Willingham), his father, Rusty Hubbard (Ilka Hubbard) and his sibling Sara Hutchison (Fraser Hutchison). He also leaves behind many loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws to help carry on his memory.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Barnesville from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 12 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Barnesville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Barnesville Building Fund or to St. George's Episcopal School Athletic Department.
