Dennis Murry McMichael, age 64, of Jackson, GA died Saturday, August 4, 2012. He was born December 27, 1947 in Jackson, GA to the late Charlie and Vera Thompson McMichael. Dennis served in the USMC in Viet Nam receiving the "Viet Namese Cross of Galentry". He enjoyed playing the harmonica, singing the blues, NASCAR, fishing, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Chip Corley (Dennis McMichael, Jr.) and Chad Derrick McMichael. Dennis is survived by his wife, Teena Hunter McMichael; 3 daughters and son-in-law, Denise McMichael, Debbie and Rodney Jones, April Preston, all of Jackson; 3 brothers, Darrell and Mattie McMichael, of Covington, Jerry McMichael, Bobby Haley, both of Jackson; 4 grandchildren, Dakota McMichael, Mya Mull, Krista Shockley, Ashton Cook; step-daughter, Tiffany Washington; step-son, Tommy and Becca R. Cook; dog, Poodle Lee Doo McMichael; 1 niece Tammy McMichael Newman; and 3 nephews, Darrell McMichael, Jr., Tim McMichael, and Gary McMichael. Funeral services for Dennis McMichael will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Sherrell and Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery (Covington). The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Monday evening.
