Mr. Donald Cary Melton, age 72, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at his residence.

Cary was born on Monday, March 8, 1954, son of Gail Washington Melton and the late Donald Roy Melton. He grew up in Griffin, Georgia and prior to retirement, was employed as the public works manager for the City of Stockbridge. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker, and a faithful member of New Life Assembly. Earlier he attended ALC he served as a media technician. Cary’s death has left a large impact on his family and friends and he will be missed.

Cary is survived by his loving wife, Delorice Prince Melton; mother, Gail Melton; daughters, Tina Brownlee, Tracy Mize; grandchildren, Kelsey DeFronzo, Jacob Moody, Katelyn Brownlee, and Ryan Mize; three sisters, Roxanne Smith, Jan Murtie, and Sandi Whittenburg; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Cary Melton will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at New Life Assembly in Griffin with Pastor Jeff Shelton officiating. Friends may visit the family from 10:30 A.M. until 11A.M. prior to the service at the church.
