Dorothy Ruth Alberson, age 89, of Jackson, GA, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at Autumn Village. She was born December 12, 1923 in Adel, GA to the late Herbert Smith Coppage and the late Geneva Parrish Coppage. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Mary Lee Jones Sunday School Class. She enjoyed going out to eat, watching the Atlanta Braves and loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Alberson; daughter, Carolyn Dexter; 2 sons, Robert Monroe, Jr., and Jimmy Alberson. Dorothy is survived by her grandson, Thomas Dexter, of Jackson; granddaughter-in-law, Nancy Dexter, of Jackson; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Billy Stewart, of Perry, Betty Sue and Mike Scudder, of Duluth; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Minnie Coppage, of Fayetteville, Paul and Margaret Coppage, of Plant City, FL, Jack and Nancy Coppage, of Charlotte, NC; 1 great-granddaughter, Hailey Dexter, of Statham; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Dorothy Alberson will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service.
