Mr. Edgar Richard Helms, age 53, of Locust Grove, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at his residence. Richard was born on Thursday, March 7, 1963 in Griffin, GA to Sara Ann Garner Helms and the late Edgar Lee Helms. He was a mechanic for Southeastern Hydraulics. Richard loved drag racing, Nascar, fishing, and UGA football. He was preceded in death by a sister, LeeAnn Helms, and father-in-law, David Elwood "Bo" McClendon, Sr.

Richard is survived by his wife, Dianne McClendon Helms; mother, Sara Ann Helms; sisters, Loretta Gironimi and Elecia Harris; mother-in-law, Bernice McClendon; in-laws, Buddy McClendon, Pedro McClendon, and Larry McClendon; several nieces and nephews.

A grave side memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016 at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Joshua McClendon officiating.
