Mrs. Elizabeth McCarty Leverett, 81, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Upson Regional Hospital in Thomaston. She was born June 17, 1932 in Yatesville. Mrs. Leverett was a member of Yatesville Baptist Church. She retired from the William Carter Company with more than 50 years of service. She loved cooking and her caring for her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike Sr. and Emily Leverett of Barnesville; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Mike Jr. and Karen Leverett of Forsyth, and Scott and Robin Leverett of Barnesville; great grandchildren, Marcelene Leverett, Maradeth Leverett, Ella Bleu Leverett and Barron Leverett; and a brother, Bobby McCarty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Leverett.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 Saturday in the Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Rev. Garth Forster officiating. Interment will be at Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 until 7:00. In-lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Leverett to a favorite charity.
