Mr. Emerson Richard Wilkerson, age 78, of McDonough, GA passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge.  Emerson was born on Tuesday, October 24, 1939 in Porterdale, GA to the late William Virgil Wilkerson and the late Lillie Barnes Wilkerson. He was a member of McDonough Baptist Tabernacle. Emerson loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Emerson is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Wilkerson; children and their spouses, Rebecca and Daniel Russell, Nikki and Ted Fortenberry, Lance and Mara Wilkerson; grandchildren, Andrea Carder, Brittney Russell, Wesson Wilkerson, Sawyer Wilkerson; great-grandchildren, Alex Carder; brother and sister-in-law, Lanier and Geraldine Wilkerson; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Emerson Wilkerson will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at McDonough Baptist Tabernacle with Reverend James P. West officiating. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfuneralhhome.com
