Ms. Florence C. Dean, age 102, of Griffin, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Brightmoor Nursing Center.

Florence was born on Monday, January 9, 1922, in Blairsville, Georgia, to the late Ceat Caldwell and the late Bessie Cochran Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jean Bouzari; sisters, Willa Mae Stark, Wariga Simmons; brothers, Mack Caldwell, Sam Caldwell, Talmadge Caldwell, and Gladwell Caldwell.

Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and buying them gifts. Florence loved to tell stories of her childhood and make the people around her smile. She will be greatly missed by everyone she knew, and forever cherished.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Janie Adkins, Katheryn Young, Janice Howell; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; as well as one sister, Earlene Phillips.

A Graveside Funeral Service for Ms. Florence C. Dean will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor David Dawson officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
