George Wayne Nelson, age 65, of Jackson, GA, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 16, 1948 in Decatur, GA to the late Charles Edward Nelson and the late Marion Elizabeth Childress Nelson. Wayne was a plumber and member of Local 72.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Peggy Biles Nelson; children, Avery and Margaret Nelson, Cindy and Chad Stewart; grandchildren, Katie, Avery, Tyler, and Tim; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Liz Nelson; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Ned Heard; several nieces and nephews

Funeral services for Wayne Nelson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Jordan and Reverend Herschel Childs officiating. Interment will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
