Obituary

Dr. Harold Denton Latham, age 89, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Ethel and Will Latham. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Peggy Latham, by his sister, Voncille, and brother-in-law, Bill Grubb, and a niece, Billie Holton. Dr. Latham was also preceded in death by his brother, W.E. Latham, and sister-in-law, Mary Frances Latham.


He was a WWII Veteran, and was in four major invasions. He pastored in California, Indiana, Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, and in Barnesville, Georgia.


He served as Public Relations for Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN, and as District Superintendent for the Georgia Church of the Nazarene for 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion.


He is survived by his wife - Mary Latham ; and two sons - Denny (& Mary Beth) Latham of Canton, and Ken (& Cara) Latham of Stillwater, OK ; 6 Grandchildren ; 10 Great Grandchildren ; and nieces and nephews.


Funeral Services for Dr. Harold Latham will be conducted Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11 O'Clock in the Barnesville Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Patrick Latham, Dr. Roy Rogers, & Rev. Lonnie Grant officiating. Interment will be held Monday, December 15th at 3 O'Clock in Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Sunday, December 14th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
