Howard Lewis "Lewie" Bannister, Jr., age 62, of McDonough, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Sacred Journey Hospice. Lewie was born on Thursday, September 17, 1953 in Atlanta, GA to Janie Tarrant Bannister and the late Howard Lewis Bannister, Sr. He attended Heritage Baptist Church and worked for the Henry County School System before his illness.

Lewie is survived by his children, Patrick and Cindy Bannister of Locust Grove, Kristin and Matt Shirley of Kathleen, Kevin Bannister of Athens; 3 grandchildren, Kadence Bannister, Branson Bannister, Grace Elisabeth Bannister; mother, Janie Bannister of Newnan; sister, Cahty L. and Reverend Michael Emeott of Newnan; nieces and nephews, Shannon and Charles Holcombe, Suzanne and Ryan McWhorter, Stephanie and Bobby Tucker, Costel Emeott; 9 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewie Bannister will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday,August 19, 2016 at Heritage Baptist Church in Locust Grove with Pastor Terrell Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in College Park Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
