Ms. Iris "Juanita" Nicholson, age 80, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025.

Juanita was born on Tuesday, June 5, 1945, in Barnesville, Georgia to the late George Richard Underwood Sr., and the late Evelyn Powell Underwood. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence Nicholson, daughter, Traci Howard, brothers, Bobby Pritchett, James Pritchett, George Richard Underwood, Jr.

Juanita was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She loved reading her Bible and spending time with family. She taught Sunday School for many years at The Barnesville Pentecostal Church.

Juanita is survived by her sons; Mark L. Nicholson, Randal L. Nicholson; grandchildren, Jeffrey Howard III, Jaclyn Howard, Ellasyn Howard; son-in-law, Jeffrey Howard II, brother, Ronald Underwood, Grady Underwood (Denise Oliver Bell); sisters-in-law, Martha Nicholson, Martha Jenkins. Several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to Thank, Heritage Inn of Barnesville, Georgia and Affinis Hospice Care for taking great care of Juanita, they appreciate each one of you for her care and dedication.
