Obituary

Jack Satterwhite, Sr., age 94, of McDonough, GA, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020, at his residence.


Jack was born on Saturday, September 19, 1925, in Miami, Florida to the late Alfred Satterwhite and the late Mattie Mae Gaultney Satterwhite. He is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Thompson Satterwhite; brother, Harold Leon Satterwhite; sister, Corliss Hollingshed. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps during War World II and the Korean War. He was a truck driver for 34 years and then retired as a Teamster, in 1968 he opened his first salvage yard, and then in 1971, he opened McDonough Used Auto Parts. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.


Jack is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Tony Blake; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Jr. and Sue Satterwhite; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, June Satterwhite; numerous special friends; several nieces and nephews.


A funeral service for Mr. Jack Satterwhite will be held Friday, July 24, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at The Farley Estate. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Farley Estate, 107 High Falls Park Road, Milner, Georgia 30257 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.
