Mr. Jackson "Jack" Porter Orr, age 77, of Jackson, GA passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital. He was born on Friday, June 28, 1940 in Atlanta, GA to the late George Thomas Orr, Sr. and the late Lillian Louise Ewing Orr. Jack graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta. He proudly served in the United States Navy in Vietnam and retired as a Petty Officer 1st Class. Jack loved sports. He played for UGA on a football scholarship. Jack loved golf, bowling, baseball, and track. He pitched in the last Atlanta-Havana Little League game. Jack enjoyed collecting coins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Marbut, and brother, George Thomas Orr, Jr.

Jack is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Orr; daughter, Theresa Derrick; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Becky Orr; grandchildren, Jasmine, Chris, Jordan, Frankie, Kyra, Rylan, Camden; brother, L.L. Chapman; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Mr. Jack Orr will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 in Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Chris Shultz officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening.
