December 26, 1931 – December 8, 2010
James Lawrence (Skeeter) Biles, of Jackson, GA, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the age of 78 years. He was born December 26, 1931 in Jackson, GA son of the late Charles Bartow and Mary Lou Stewart Biles. He worked for Atlanta Baking Company as a route salesman for over 25 years. He owned and operated Sunbeam Bread Store in Griffin and Jackson for 10 years. After retirement, Mr. Biles worked for Fresh Air BBQ for about 8 years. He was a very dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church for over 70 yrs, where he was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and director, RA leader, Brotherhood Director and served on various other church committees. He was a member of the Butts County Recreation Department Hall of Fame of Coaches for baseball and football, and a 50 year Mason with St. John's Lodge. Mr. Biles loved his grandchildren and his family very much. He also loved farming, UGA football and Jackson High School sports. Mr. Biles is survived by his wife, Juanita Grubbs Biles, of Jackson; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Roger Kirby, of Marietta; one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Betsy Biles, of Jackson; three sisters, Ruth Tante, Virginia Pulliam and Faye Crane, all of Jackson; one brother, David Biles, of Jackson; grandchildren, Chatham and Harris Putnam, Jake Schneider, Lauren and Olivia Biles; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat B. Biles and Pat T. Biles, Woody Speed, all of Jackson, Franklin and Emma Grubbs, of McDonough, Sara and Bill Shields, of Sandy, OR; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Lane Sanders, Dr. Rodney Autry and Rudy Mangham officiating. Interment will be at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 10, 2010 from 5:00 - 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church "Live The Vision" Building Fund, 151 Macedonia Church Rd, Jackson, GA 30233.
