Obituary

James Wesley (Pa Pa) Cook, of Jackson, GA, died Saturday, February 11, 2012. He was born December 31, 1924 in Jackson to the late Robert Wesley and Alberta Barham Cook. He retired following 34 yrs of service with the Georgia Forestry Service and enjoyed gardening, painting, crafts, mountains, the outdoors and loved spending time with his family, especially his great-granddaughter. James is survived by his daughter, Dianne (Bootsie) Harper; grandson, Chris Giambalvo; granddaughter, Michele McCord; great-granddaughter, Layla McCord, all of Jackson; 3 sisters, Sara Kelly, Ruby Norwood, Doris Smith; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Nub and Nancy Cook, Coot Cook, Bubba and Beth Cook, Billy and Sandra Cook; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by the mother of his child, Frances L Cook. Services for James Cook will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 - 9:00 PM Monday evening. Those who wish may sign the on-line guest registry at www.sherrellfh.com.
