Mr. James "Jimmy" William English, Sr., age 85, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at his residence.

Jimmy was born on Friday, March 29, 1940, in Covington, Georgia to the late Ennis Leslie English, Sr. and the late Eugenia Hollingsworth English. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah English; daughter, Jenni Watts; son-in-law, Timothy Williams; siblings, Leslie English, Emily Jenkins. Jimmy retired after many years with Saia Transport. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Jimmy loved working outside, especially in his garden. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jimmy is survived by his children and spouses, Saralyn Williams, Karon and David Barnes, Sharon and Don Crowell, Jim and Karen English, Lundy English, Marietta and Joseph Lomboy; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mr. Jimmy English will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Price officiating. Interment will follow at Stark Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
