SFC. James Larry Williams (Ret.), age 73, of Barnesville, GA passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Williams was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1946 in Barnesville, Georgia to the late James Mathew Williams and Mrs. Christine Jones Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Beverly Garrett and Gloria Grimes. Larry served faithfully in the United States Army for 22 years. During the Vietnam War, he served in the 101st Airborne Division and was a Dog Handler. After retirement he worked in construction. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Larry loved fishing, guns, and spending time outdoors.

Larry is survived by his children, Gery Safranek, Viola & Jeff Miller, Tina & David Boyd; grandchildren, Brian Logan, Michael Boyd, Eric Boyd; mother, Christine Williams; brother-in-law, John Garrett; beloved dog, Cherokee.

A funeral service for Mr. James Larry Williams will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Midway Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
