James Albert Joe Lummus, 58, of Jackson, Georgia passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 18, 2026.

James was born on Sunday, June 4, 1967, to the late Robert James Lummus and Lola Faye Price Lummus in Garfield Heights, Ohio. He was a man of faith, being a devoted Christian and a man that loved his family. He loved the people in his community and was well respected in turn by his community. He loved to dance, party and have a good time and was actually well known for being a prankster, never missing a chance for a good prank with his family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lola Lummus. He is survived by his sisters; Lena Brown (Ricky), Mona Lisa Anderson (Kelby), Rose Lummus, nieces and nephews; Jeremy Brown, Jospeh Brown, Kristin Stevens, David Jones, Thorne Anderson, Brian Pfeiffer, great nieces and nephews; Nova Stevens, Rowan Anderson, Juno Anderson as well as extended family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Rudy Mangham officiating. He will be laid to rest at Flovilla South Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held from 12 P.M. – 2 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
