Mr. Jerry Boyd McBurnett, age 77 of Barnesville, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

Jerry was born on September 5, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Mr. James Boyd McBurnett and Mrs. Rosa Davis Pye. Along with his parents, Jerry is also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Howard.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Diane "MawMaw" McBurnett. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Tammy Pair (Chris), Jeff McBurnett (Jessie), and Stacey Thompson (Shane), Gidget McBurnett; grandchildren, Justin Pair (Jennifer), Jenna Jackson (Taylor), Whitney Shaffer (Stephen), Bradley McBurnett (Rachel), Shaina Gregos (Kyle), Summer Thompson, Jordan McBurnett, Seth Thompson, Slade Thompson, Megan McBurnett, and Mckenzie White; great-grandchildren, Clayre, Evelyn, Stone, Beckham, Delilah, Jennings, Carson, Maddox, Saige, Cyrus, Josie, Carter Jane, and Sawyer; siblings, Jimmy McBurnett, Elaine Hammond, and Darlene Baskette. A host of extended family also survive.

PawPaw was such a special man. To know him is to love him. He touched the lives of so many. He is the definition of loving through actions. Whether it was painting or building us things or helping someone out in a time of need, he never failed to show his love with his generosity. He was a loyal man, he loved MawMaw and his family more than anything. He was at every game, graduation, child birth.. he was always there. His eyes would always light up with joy when he saw his great grand babies and grand children. He leaves behind a legacy of love.

A celebration of life for PawPaw will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 4:30 P.M. at The Everlasting Ranch at 700 Fincherville Road, Jackson, Georgia 30233, with Pastor Jeff McBurnett officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the ranch.
