Mrs. Jessica Leigh Newsome, of Mountville, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at her home.
Jessica was born July 13, 1983 in Carrollton, daughter of Gene and Sheila Crowe. She was a graduate of Emory University with a Masters in Divinity. Jessica's career in church ministry included serving as the Youth Pastor of Pine Mountain First United Methodist Church, Pastor for both the Mountville United Methodist Church and Big Springs United Methodist Church, Youth Minister at First United Methodist Church in West Point, and Children's Minister at Newnan First United Methodist Church. Jessica was a true disciple and mentor to many young people. She spent time with them, encouraged them and taught them how to be more like Christ in every situation they faced in life.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband of nine years, Jason Newsome; two daughters, Savannah Grace Newsome and Ella Faith Newsome, all of Mountville; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Sarah Crowe of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Rosie and Josh Matthews of Harrisonville; brothers, Justin Crowe and Jesse Crowe and sister, Misty Crowe, all of Brooks; paternal grandmother, Joyce Crowe of Villa Rica; maternal grandparents, Louis and Bobbie Jean Warford of Carrollton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Nancy Newsome of Mountville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jodie and Robbie Maharrey of Mountville; niece, Quinleigh Crowe; two nephews, Van Crowe and Walker Maharrey; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 Monday at Mountville United Methodist Church with Rev. Tyler Plaxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountville Cemetery. The family will be at her home and receive friends at the Mountville United Methodist Church Sunday evening from 4:00 until 8:00.
