Mr. Jessie Felton Posey, III, "Jay", age 57, of Jackson, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Wellstar Sylvan Grove Hospital. He was born on Friday, January 30, 1959 in Reynolds, GA to the late Jessie Felton Posey, II and the late Mary Wesley Rosser Crider. Jay was literally a Jack-of-all-trades. He was a great guitar player and loved computers.

Jay is survived by his wife, Debbie Thurston Posey; children, Tony and Ivy Gilmore, Odessa Phillips; grandchildren, Briana Gilmore, Gracie Gilmore, Jeremiah Gilmore, Robert Phillips, Jr., Layla Gilmore; sister, Cheryl Kirby, Diane and Thomas Hunt; brothers, Carey and Kim Posey, Kenny and April Crider; in-laws, June Lane, Kenneth and Sandra Thurston, Norma Lunsford, Tony Thurston, Brenda Wagner, Donnie and Darlene Thurston, Ricky Thurston; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Jay Posey will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at his home with Reverend Danny Clark officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society, 3715 Northside Parkway, Building 400, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30327 or to the T.J.
