Life Legacy

Mr. James William "Jim" Eckert, age 73, of Hampton, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017. He was born on Thursday, November 11, 1943 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to the late August Eckert and the late Arline Rollin Eckert. Jim was a member of St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam. Jim enjoyed SCCA Racing. He loved to travel and do yardwork.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Eckert; children, Bill Eckert and his fiancé, Tonya, Linda Fellberg, Scott Eckert and his wife, Grace; grandchildren, James, Sierra, Kayla, Jason, Albee, Dakota, Eric, Scott, Stephanie; brothers and their spouses, Gene and June Eckert, Frank and Dixie Eckert, John and MaryJo Eckert, Paul Eckert; sisters and their spouses, Theresa and Dave Novack, Mary Eckert, Cora Dolan, Andrea and Bob Warder; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Jim Eckert will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church with Father José Kochuparampil officiating. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery in Hampton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
