Mrs. Joan Thompson Gunter, age 78, of Barnesville passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Gunter was born in Hampshire, TN to the late Mr. Willard M. Thompson and the late Mrs. Zelma Love Thompson, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Howell Farris Gunter.

Survivors include: 2 Sons - Michael Farris Gunter of Lamar County, & Mitchell Lee Gunter of Barnesville ; 1 Daughter - Pamela Gunter New Thomas (& Bryan) of McDonough ; 3 Grandchildren - Ryan New and Jake New, both of McDonough, & Skye Lynn Gunter of Griffin ; & 1 Step-Grandson - Tyree Thomas of McDonough.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Joan Thompson Gunter will be conducted Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 O'Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Friday evening, April 20, 2012 from 6pm until 8pm.
