Lt. Commander Joseph Lester Norris, U.S. Navy, Ret., 96, of Eatonton passed away, Saturday, January 17, 2015. Mr. Norris was a native of Warrenton, Georgia, and lived most of his life in Lamar County, before moving to Putnam County. He served in the United State Navy as a Pilot in World War II, the Berlin Airlift, and in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Norris retired from the Navy as a Lt. Commander. He worked a number of years as an Insurance Adjuster for several companies. Mr. Norris enjoyed farming. He was predeceased by two children, Jeni Gail Vigil and Tory Raymond Huntsman.

Survivors include His wife Martha Norris of Eatonton; His Children, Joanne Norris Giddens of Naples, Florida, Michael T. Norris and Gary Norris both of of Loganville, and Susan H. Duffee of Barnesville; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Memorial Services for Joe Norris will be conducted, Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 3 O'clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville on Thursday from 2 PM until the service hour.
