Mr. Joe Harris Sweat, age 68, of Barnesville, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 in Lamar County. Mr. Sweat was born in Johnson County, GA. on October 27, 1940 to the late Mr. Thomas Sims Sweat and the late Mrs. Clovis Elizabeth Parr Sweat. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Barnesville and served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his Wife: Mrs. Brenda Joyce Sutton Sweat of Barnesville; his Daughter: Anita and Husband, Eddie Buice, Jr. of Forsyth; his Step-Children: Brenda Martin and Husband, Don of Yatesville; Jeff Jones and Wife, Claudette of The Rock; Joseph Jones and Wife, Patricia of Rome; Keith Jones of Selma, AL.; and Kenny Jones of Barnesville; 16 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Brothers: Charles Sweat and Wife, Bobbie of Stockbridge and Thomas Sweat and Wife, Gail of McDonough also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Joe Harris Sweat will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2009, also in Williams Funeral Home, between the hours of 6 and 8 PM.
