Mr. John Douglas Connell, age 72, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

John was born on Tuesday, March 16, 1954, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Gene Bunn and the late Mary Ruth Armstead.

John was a loving father, pawpaw, and brother. He loved going fishing, getting coffee at Circle K, cracking jokes (never the same one), riding motorcycles, tinkering around in his yard and always fixing something. John was employed by the City of Barnesville for many years, he worked as a lineman, and later retired.

John is survived by his daughters, Margaret Ann Brannon, Mary Beth Richardson; grandchildren, Landon Britton, Rhett Richardson, Charleigh-Ann Brannon, Jaxson Brannon; brother, Donny Connell (Marlene); sisters, Kim Johnson (Craig), and Kathy Graham. Several nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Memorial Service for Mr. John Douglas Connell will be held at a later date.
