Mr. John William Davis, age 64, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Brightmoor Hospice.

John was born on February 25, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Charles Clifton Davis and Sara Louise London Davis. He retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yardwork; although his favorite thing was to spend time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years; Jeri Davis; son, Cliff Davis; step-daughter, Kerrie Chatham; grandchildren, Billy Davis and Ella Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Dean Hall; brother and sister-in-law, James and Remell Davis; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. John William Davis will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Sherrell Memorial Chapel with Reverend Nathan Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
