Mr. John Michael Oglesby, age 62, of Barnesville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

John was born on Sunday, March 26, 1961, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Robert Newton Oglesby and the late Thelma Elizabeth McDevitt Oglesby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother; Bobby Oglesby; sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Guske; sister-in-law, Joanne Oglesby; nephew, Matt Oglesby.

John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family more than anything and always made Jesus the center of their home. He was a devout Christian who loved the Lord, and he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He loved trains and gardening, and he loved being at home. John will always be remembered as a genuine and encouraging husband, father and grandfather who made everyone laugh.

John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda Ann Oglesby; children and their spouses, Natalie Groover, Ashley Burk (Khris); grandchildren, Brandt Burk, Faith Burk; grand-dog; Margo; brother and sister-in-law, David Oglesby (Denise); brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Tony Bradley (Cynthia); nieces and nephews, Jacob Oglesby, Jared Oglesby, Jason Oglesby, Melissa Davidson, Michelle Sheets, Keith Oglesby, Amanda Marston, Steven Bradley, Jennifer Bradley.

A Memorial Service for Mr. John Michael Oglesby will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. in Breedlove Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jeffrey Morgan officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
