Mr. John David Penland, age 68, of Tussahaw Point Drive, Jackson, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014.

Mr. Penland was born on June 1, 1945 in Napa, California to the late William J. Penland and the late Betty Joline Brown Penland. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Penland was a self-employed truck driver.

Mr. Penland is survived by his wife, Tracey Ledford Penland; son, David Penland; daughter, Christina Rothgeb; step-daughter, Skyla Shugart; step-son, Jack Smith; five grandchildren; mother-in-law, Nita Ledford.

Funeral services for Mr. John David Penland will be conducted on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Georgia Veteran's Memorial Cemetery with Mr. Rudy Mangham officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
