Mr. John Potat, III, age 57, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024.

John was born Monday, June 20, 1966, in Hammond, Indiana to the (late John Potat, Jr) and Marilyn Agnes Black Potat. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, James Wiles, II. He was of Catholic faith and worked for Toppan. John enjoyed fishing, swimming, and playing football when he was younger.  He also liked riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.

John is survived by his mother, Marilyn Potat; son, John Polchert; daughter, Kara Polchert; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Janet and Karl Martin, Jennifer and Jack Moore, Dawn and Steve Torbush, Robin Wiles, Barbara and Walter Mason, III, Amy and Jason Helderman, Tracy and Brad Sayer; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home.
