Obituary

Mr. John Wayne Trawick, age 78, of Flovilla, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.

John was born on Monday, January 3, 1948, in Blakely, Georgia to the late Charlie Wayne Trawick and the late Eloise White Trawick. He worked as a Critical Care nurse at Henry Medical Center and was a member of Rock Springs Church. Some of his favorite things to do were golfing, fishing, quail hunting, bowling, and traveling. John loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandkids. John will be deeply missed.

John is survived by his loving wife of 56 1/2 years, Ruth Trawick; children and spouses, Lisa and Joey Smith, Mandy and Shane Focht, Johnboy and Kari Trawick, Ben and Heather Trawick; grandchildren and spouses; Amelia and Justin Hatten, Will Duke, Christopher and Rebecca Focht, Whitney and Austin Illingworth, Matthew Focht, Charlie Trawick, Jack Trawick, Anna Trawick, Dallas Trawick, Emma Trawick, Kendyll Trawick, great-grandchildren; Jett Hatten, Aiden Illingworth, Addie Illingworth, Henry Focht, sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann and Terry Holt; and many extended family members.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. John Trawick will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the chapel of Sherrell-Westbury Funeral Home with Rev. Justin Weldon and Rev. Debra Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson City Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
